BAGAN

Wow, Jonathan and I are officially a year behind on the blog! Oops!

We have a couple more weeks before our next big adventure begins -- parenthood! Yes, we are expecting the newest member of our family in December. But until then, we're going to get this blog updated so get ready to see what we've been up to for the past year. :)

After Yangon, we made our way to another popular Myanmar destination - Bagan, mainly known for the thousands of temples spread across 40 square miles. Between the 11th and 13th centuries, there were more than 11,000 structures (temples, pagodas, monastaries) in the area and only about 2,200 remain today. We spent the next two days exploring the area, getting up before sunrise and finding the best vnatage point for sunset.

While visiting one of the villages, the boys also tried thanaka, which is a paste made from ground bark that locals apply to their face as sunscreen, skin lightener, or even acne prevention.

We were lucky to find a temple that we had all to ourselves to catch the sun setting in the distance.

The next morning, we took a sunrise balloon ride over Bagan and explored the area on e-bikes.

Are you templed-out yet? Get ready for more pictures! :)

We had another early morning to watch the sunrise before making our way to Inle Lake.
