YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK DAY 2

No snow coach tours were available since we booked late, so instead we decided to rent some snow shoes and hike around on our own. We ended up doing 5-6 miles in total walking around the Old Faithful area.

Yellowstone in winter is SICK.

Lucky us … we saw some bison right off the trail and were treated with a coyote up close. The geysers and pools are just as cool, if not cooler, during the winter surrounded by snow. There was one hot springs pool that was putting off steam directly into the trees on one side creating some gnarly icicle formations completely covering the tree. We even caught an emoji in the wild. Usually you don’t get to see a snowflake up close and personal, but every so often you get lucky!
